Art of Ligel
Recently the visual artist for the 27th annual,2006 Jacksonville Jazz Festival, The visual artist for the 15th annual, 2007 Capital Jazz Festival and now the official visual artist in residence with the Savannah Jazz Festival, Ligel Lambert paints his interpretations of musical imagery. You can almost hear the melodic tones of the brass instruments as they float with the musical notes on a backdrop of vibrant abstracted musical imagery. Ligel's use of color and movement is in harmony with his chosen subject of Music.
His first instrument of choice was the pencil, followed closely by the trombone. His love for music and visual art was born. For high school, he attended the Savannah Arts Academy . After high school, he attended the Savannah College of Art and Design, and Armstrong Atlantic State University where he was able to pursue both of these interests, Visual Art and Music. During those years he created his signature style of art depicting music. Pen and ink and paint are now in his repertoire.
In December of 2000 he joined the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Musician/ Trombonist, where he still found time to create his art. Ligel has maintained his signature style of "visual music" and is now a professional working artist based in Savannah, Georgia. His Art is in the collection of many of the well known and professionals such as Evan Greene, Recording Academy Vice President, Marketing & Strategic Alliances, Linebacker, Kendrell Bell #97 of the Kanses City Chiefs; Wycleffe Gordon, jazz trombonist extraordinaire and educator. Kasseen Dean (Swizz beatz) owner and producer of Full Surface Records in New York city, Dinah and Fred Gretsch of the Gretsch Enterprises and all collectors of the 27th annual, 2006 Jacksonville Jazz Festival Poster and other collectables.
Ligels' work has been hung in Studio 900, Beaufort, SC; Gallery 2, Columbia SC; Kenny's Lounge, Savannah, GA, as part of a Red Carpet Business Social Event; The Red Piano Too Art Gallery, St. Helena Island, SC; ATHUN Art Gallery, Savannah, GA; Art Galleries big Fall 2004 show; The Savannah music folk Festival; the Savannah Art Association Art Gallery; Jacksonville, Florida's Town Hall in 2006; The Jacksonville International Airport in 2006; and Lola-Art and Gifts Gallery, 980 B Canton Street, Roswell, Ga.

My giclees are printed on archival quality, heavy- weight canvas. I hand
embellish each and every giclee with paint, so they will have some
textures. Also, there are signed and numbered after I paint them. The
limited Editions range from 100 to 200 Giclees in the different (S/N)
Sign and Numbered editions. Also, the giclees are painted all the way
around the edges/borders as well, so you will not even have to frame
them if you do not wish to. Further, they come already stretched on the
stretcher bars with appropriate hangers on the back of the giclee, so
all you have to do when you receive your giclee is to hang it on your
wall and enjoy.
